Talking to Our Children about Cancer

There are an estimated 70,000 young adults under the age of 40 who wil be diagnosed with cancer this year. Many of them will have young children in the home.

Are you one of them?

Do you need to talk with your children about your diagnosis, treatment and everything that is about to happen?

Why even have this discussion with your children?

Because kids can smell fear from the front door.
Because kids know when your smile doesn’t make it all the way up to your eyes.
Because some parts of you- and therefore some parts of them- are about to change.
Because they deserve not only the truth but also to hear it from you and to have their questions answered.
But all of these pretty words don’t make the conversation any easier. You know it’s important and that’s why you’re here.
